Intelligence Philippine Airlines Launches New Destinations   EXPANSION PLAN: Philippine Airlines to debut six new routes this year. © Chisiang Philippine Airlines announced a major route expansion plan, including six new destinations out of Manila (MNL) across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. The Philippines' flag carrier will launch new routes to Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Malaysia; Guangzhou (CAN), China; and Abu Dhabi (AUH), United Arab Emirates. PAL will also offer new services to three cities in Australia, including Brisbane (BNE), Darwin (DRW) and Perth (PER). "Kuala Lumpur, Australia, and Guangzhou are major destinations for business and leisure. Abu Dhabi, on the other hand, has a large concentration of overseas Filipino workers, making it a prime destination in the Middle East," said PAL's president, Ramon S. Ang. The airline's expansion begins May 1 with the launch of four weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur. Flights depart Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 07:55. The expansion continues in June with the debut of three additional routes. Four weekly flights to Guangzhou will depart Manila every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 10:30. Three weekly flights to Brisbane, via Darwin, will depart at 22:05 every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Services to Perth, also flying via Darwin, will leave every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 22:25. PAL will return to the Middle East for the first time since 2010 with the launch of direct daily flights to Abu Dhabi Oct. 1. Services depart Manila at 16:25. News Air China Boosts Service   Air China will increase service between Beijing (PEK) and Moscow (SVO) from two flights per week to daily beginning March 31. The outbound flight departs from Beijing at 13:45 and the return flight leaves Moscow at 19:45, all times local. Total flight time is 11 hours and 30 minutes. The carrier will operate the route with the newly renovated Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Holland America Increases Asia Capacity   Holland America Line plans to position its two ships Rotterdam and Volendam in Asia for the 2013-2014 winter season, increasing its capacity and adding more itineraries in the region. Both ships will offer new voyages, including a round-trip cruise from Singapore on Volendam and a sailing to Indonesia on Rotterdam. Passengers have the option to combine the 14-day itineraries onto longer itineraries. Hilton To Open In Myanmar   Hilton Worldwide is developing its first Hilton Hotels & Resorts-branded hotel in Myanmar, the Hilton Yangon. Located in the city's Kyauktada Township 14.3 kilometres from Yangon International Airport (RGN), the 21-story hotel will include 300 rooms and open in 2014. Singapore Airlines, Virgin America Frequent-Flyer Partnership   Singapore Airlines and Virgin America are expanding their existing codeshare agreement to include a frequent-flyer partnership. Members of both Singapore Airlines' PPS Club and KrisFlyer frequent-flyer loyalty programs can earn KrisFlyer miles when traveling on all Virgin America flights, and members of Virgin America's Elevate frequent-flyer loyalty program can earn Elevate points when flying with Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines is the fourth airline to join Virgin America's Elevate frequent-flyer loyalty program, which also includes Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia and Hawaiian Airlines. Centara Debuts Mobile App   Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand's leading operator of hotels, launched a mobile app for iPhone and Android users. Available at the Apple App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android, the new app allows users to check room availability, book online and view Centara news and promotions.
