Emirates unveiled plans to launch flights to a second destination in the Philippines. Beginning Oct. 1, the Dubai-based carrier will add a new daily service to Clark International Airport (CRK) in the province of Pampanga in Central Luxon, approximately 80 km north of Manila.

Emirates has operated flights to Manila since 1990. The new service will complement the airline's existing triple daily, non-stop service between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Manila (MNL).

"There has always been a growing demand for Emirates' services since we connected Manila with Dubai and our constantly expanding network on six continents," said Tim Clark, president, Emirates. "The launch of flights between Clark International Airport and Dubai will offer our passengers the flexibility of choosing two destinations in the Philippines."

Emirates will operate the new route with a two-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Flights will depart Dubai at 4:00 and arrive at Clark at 16:40 local time. The return service will leave the Philippines at 18:35 and arrive in Dubai at 23:05.

Clark International Airport Corp. plans to increase the immigration lanes within the airport from 10 to 36 in preparation for the expected hike in passengers and flights this year. Clark currently operates at least 300 flights each week and served more than 1.4 million passengers in 2012.
